Job Description: Under the direction of the Manager, and as part of an interdisciplinary team, the Social Worker BSW provides a range of screening, triage, assessment, treatment and case coordination services to a primarily adult community mental health and addiction population.

  • Bachelor of Social Work (BSW)

Licenses

  • Valid Class 5 driver's license

  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary setting.
  • Ability to provide public/educational presentations
  • Demonstrates critical thinking, problem solving, conflict resolution skills
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to identify, implement and evaluate areas of client difficulty.
  • Knowledge of assessment, triage, treatment and case management.
  • Ability to prepare reports in a clear, concise and timely manner.
  • Able to work independently in a self motivated manner & respond under pressure
  • Ability to enter and retrieve data in computer database systems
  • Knowledge of community resources including treatment programs & support agencies
  • Exp. in mental health & addictions community outreach & crisis interventions
  • Knowledge in various intervention strategies for individuals and groups
  • Knowledge in various mental health and addiction and harm reduction strategies
  • Public relation skills with the ability to maintain effective work relationships
  • Establish and maintain good interpersonal relationships
  • Knowledge and practical application of the Mental Health Services Act and Health Information Protection Act and other legislation
  • Knowledge of Recovery Philosophy
  • Ability to formulate evidence-based intervention based on clinical presentation

  • Registered/eligible with the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers (SASW)
