About the Job

As an Auto Body Technician, you will play a crucial role in the repair and restoration of vehicles. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning repair work to be performed
  • Providing professionalism in customer service
  • Test driving vehicles to ensure proper handling
  • Maintaining a clean and organized workspace
  • Replacing front end components, body components, doors, and frame and underbody components
  • Filing, grinding, and sanding body surfaces to be repaired
  • Masking and taping auto body surfaces in preparation for painting
  • Hammering out dents, buckles, and defects using blocks and hammers
  • Removing damaged fenders, panels, and grills, and bolting or welding replacement parts into place
  • Applying primers and repainting surfaces
  • Repairing or replacing interior components
  • Repairing or replacing damaged windows, windshields, and sunroofs
  • Mixing paint, blending, and matching colors
  • Operating soldering equipment or using plastic filler to fill holes, dents, and seams
  • Straightening bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment

Requirements

Education

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience

  • 2 years to less than 3 years in a similar role
