About the Job
As an Auto Body Technician, you will play a crucial role in the repair and restoration of vehicles. Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning repair work to be performed
- Providing professionalism in customer service
- Test driving vehicles to ensure proper handling
- Maintaining a clean and organized workspace
- Replacing front end components, body components, doors, and frame and underbody components
- Filing, grinding, and sanding body surfaces to be repaired
- Masking and taping auto body surfaces in preparation for painting
- Hammering out dents, buckles, and defects using blocks and hammers
- Removing damaged fenders, panels, and grills, and bolting or welding replacement parts into place
- Applying primers and repainting surfaces
- Repairing or replacing interior components
- Repairing or replacing damaged windows, windshields, and sunroofs
- Mixing paint, blending, and matching colors
- Operating soldering equipment or using plastic filler to fill holes, dents, and seams
- Straightening bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment
Requirements
Education
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience
- 2 years to less than 3 years in a similar role
