We are looking for a licensed Physiotherapist who brings a genuine background in exercise physiology to deliver a uniquely integrated scope of care. In this dual-scope role, you will combine the clinical depth of physiotherapy assessment and treatment with the performance and metabolic science perspective of exercise physiology helping members not only recover from injury, but optimize their movement, cardiovascular fitness, body composition, and long-term physical resilience.
This role is ideal for a clinician who is energized by the full arc of physical health: from acute musculoskeletal care through functional restoration, fitness optimization, and preventive performance programming. You will work as a core member of our multidisciplinary team alongside physicians, chiropractors, kinesiologists, and allied health providers.Key ResponsibilitiesPhysiotherapy assessment and treatment
- Conduct comprehensive musculoskeletal assessments including biomechanical analysis, functional movement screening, postural evaluation, and orthopedic special testing to establish an accurate clinical picture of each member's presenting condition and underlying movement patterns.
- Develop and deliver individualized, evidence-based physiotherapy treatment plans incorporating manual therapy, joint mobilization, soft tissue techniques, therapeutic modalities, and progressive rehabilitation exercise.
- Manage a broad range of musculoskeletal and neuromuscular conditions including spinal pain, joint dysfunction, post-surgical rehabilitation, tendinopathies, overuse injuries, and sport-related presentations with a focus on full functional restoration and long-term resilience.
- Translate complex clinical findings into clear, accessible language that empowers members in their own recovery and builds lasting health literacy around movement and physical care.
- Apply exercise physiology principles to design individualized physical conditioning programs that address cardiorespiratory fitness, muscular strength and endurance, flexibility, movement quality, and body composition grounded in each member's health data, goals, and clinical status.
- Conduct and interpret fitness assessments including VO2 max testing, anaerobic threshold evaluation, maximal strength and power testing, and body composition analysis integrating results into each member's Unified Health Story.
- Develop progressive exercise prescriptions that bridge the gap between physiotherapy discharge and long-term performance health, ensuring members never experience the gap between 'recovered' and 'optimized.'
- Support metabolic health programming in collaboration with the clinical team addressing exercise-related strategies for weight management, insulin sensitivity, cardiovascular risk reduction, bone health, and healthy ageing.
- Monitor member progress using objective performance metrics and outcome measures, adjusting programs based on physiological response, clinical findings, and evolving member goals.
- Identify movement risk factors, biomechanical inefficiencies, and early musculoskeletal vulnerabilities before they progress to injury delivering targeted preventive interventions as part of each member's proactive care plan.
- Contribute to Stem Health's longevity-focused movement programming designing protocols that address healthy ageing, fall prevention, sarcopenia, osteoporosis management, and the musculoskeletal dimensions of long-term vitality.
- Collaborate with the physician team, kinesiologist, and nutritional support staff to ensure physical programming is aligned with each member's metabolic, hormonal, and preventive health objectives.
- Work closely with the broader clinical team physicians, chiropractors, kinesiologists, and allied health providers ensuring your assessments, treatment plans, and exercise programming are integrated into each member's Unified Health Story via the clinic's EHR system.
- Participate in case consultations and interdisciplinary reviews, contributing both a physiotherapy and exercise physiology perspective to complex presentations.
- Document session notes, objective measures, treatment progress, and home exercise programs with precision and timeliness.
- Licensed Physiotherapist in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario (CPO) required.
- Formal background in exercise physiology a degree, post-graduate training, or equivalent structured clinical experience in exercise science, kinesiology, or exercise physiology is required.
- Certified Exercise Physiologist (CEP) through the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology (CSEP), or equivalent professional certification, is a significant asset.
- Minimum 3 years of clinical physiotherapy experience; experience in private care, performance therapy, executive health, or integrative health settings is strongly preferred.
- Strong hands-on manual therapy skills alongside demonstrated competence in exercise prescription, functional movement assessment, and fitness testing.
- Experience conducting VO2 max or cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET), anaerobic threshold testing, and interpreting advanced fitness and metabolic data.
- Genuine interest in the intersection of musculoskeletal health, metabolic fitness, and preventive medicine and the ability to bridge these domains meaningfully in clinical practice.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills warm, credible, and able to build genuine rapport with health-engaged, high-performing members.
- Proficiency with EHR systems and comfort working within an integrated, multidisciplinary clinical environment.
