JOB DESCRIPTION
Join our Training team, where you will play a key role in designing, developing, and delivering modern training and crew solutions for maritime and naval projects. Fleetway is driving the integration of combat and platform systems to support the sailors who will join the River-class Destroyer (RCD) fleet. The Senior Learning Systems Integrator plays a critical leadership role within the Training team and is responsible for the design, development, implementation, and verification and validation of RCD training devices, also referred to as trainers. This role leads technical integration activities across the full training device lifecycle and serves as a subject matter expert in learning systems, standards, and architectures. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise, strong documentation skills, and the ability to mentor and guide junior team members, while working collaboratively with internal stakeholders and subcontractors. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the design, integration, and delivery of training devices for the River Class Destroyer program
  • Develop and maintain clear, accurate technical documentation, including requirements and design specifications
  • Support training device planning, implementation, and verification and validation activities
  • Provide technical guidance and collaboration across internal teams and subcontractors
  • Monitor project progress, share updates with leadership, and contribute solutions when challenges arise
  • Mentor and support junior team members through hands‑on leadership and coaching

QUALIFICATIONS
Education

  • A diploma or post-secondary degree in Computer science, software engineering, education technology or a related discipline

Experience
5-8+ years of experience working with most of the following:

  • Technology project execution for large or complex enterprises (design, build, and delivery)
  • Development and maintenance of technical documentation, including requirements and design specifications
  • Systems and software engineering standards (e.g., ISO 15288)
  • Learning specifications such as xAPI, cmi5, SCORM
  • Development tool suites such as Microsoft DevOps, Git
  • Integrated Development Environments (IDEs)
  • Service architectures including REST, Cloud, SOA
  • Project management and instructional design methodologies such as ADDIE and Agile
  • Defence or technical standards such as CFITES and S1000D

Technical Skills
Working knowledge of one or more programming and markup languages, such as:

  • JSON, XML
  • Java, JavaScript
  • HTML, CSS
  • C, C++, Python

Key Competencies

  • Strong systems thinking with attention to technical detail
  • Proven ability to lead integration efforts across multidiscipline teams
  • Excellent written communication and documentation skills
  • Comfortable mentoring junior team members and providing technical leadership
  • Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders, vendors, and subcontractors
