JOB DESCRIPTION
The HR & LR Associate collaborates with the HR Business Partners to support the effective implementation of HR policies, procedures, and programs. The HR & LR Associate is ensuring the HR Information System has accurate and timely people data. They collect, update, report on, analyze and interpret people data to inform HR strategy discussions with business unit leaders. They support employees and managers by responding to HR inquiries and support the Manager of HR and the centers of excellence in implementing talent management programs and improving HR processes and practices.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintains accurate employee documentation and HR system records.
- Ensures 100% data integrity in HRIS; analyzes trends and resolves root causes of data issues.
- Prepares reports, audits data, and supports cross-organizational alignment.
- Administers and updates HR policies and procedures.
- Audits policies against legislation and best practices; recommends improvements.
- Provides first-level guidance on HR policies and escalates complex inquiries.
- Supports talent management initiatives (e.g., performance, succession, D&I).
- Assists with leadership development and HR tech training.
- Drives employee engagement efforts, including survey promotion and action planning.
- Manages logistics for onboarding, orientation, and offboarding.
- Coordinates with teams to ensure smooth transitions and complete documentation.
- Tracks and processes leave requests; manages medical documentation.
- Handles attendance inquiries, emergency vacation approvals, and related communications.
- Facilitates safe return-to-work processes and accommodation matching.
- Collaborates with stakeholders to support employee reintegration.
- Schedules meetings, prepares data, and hosts sessions.
- Conducts probationary reviews and distributes reports.
- Compiles labour relations statistics (e.g., attendance, discipline, grievances).
QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years' experience in Human Resources
- Knowledge of ethical practices in Labor Relations and understanding of legal implications for various labor-related decisions
- Experience working with HR information systems
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Human Resources, Business Management, Sociology, or related field
