JOB DESCRIPTION
Irving Shipbuilding is seeking a Warehouseperson/ Material Handler in Dartmouth, NS
• Submit a resume and cover letter by the end of the day on the Competition Close Date:
July 18, 2025.
• Applications without resumes will be considered incomplete and ineligible for the job
competition.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Receive materials delivered to ISI warehouses and Shipyard Sites, using forklifts when
necessary.
• Accurately and promptly check materials for damages and quantity.
• Assist with stock checks and cycle counts as needed.
• Update computer systems to maintain accurate stock levels.
• Store materials in the warehouse after deliveries.
• Perform material marshalling and address any discrepancies.
• Report daily to the Warehouse Supervisor regarding material movements.
• Dispose of combustible packaging as required.
• Keep storage areas organized and tidy.
• Must be able to bend, stand, sit and lift up to 50lb's in a continuous and repetitive
manner.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Lift objects up to 50 lbs.
• Work in an enclosed environment.
• Climb a ladder/stairs.
• Lift object higher than the shoulders.
• Operate motorized equipment.
• Exposure to noise.
• Exposure to vibration.
• Ability to wear all PPE as required: including safety shoes, glasses, hart hat, hearing
protection.
• Able to work shift work (Day, afternoon, and back)
• Self-starter capable of completing tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• At least two years of experience operating a forklift.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.).
• At least two years of experience with computerized inventory control systems and data
entry.
All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
