About This Location:

Our Home Office is located in the heart of Bloor West Village in Toronto, just steps away from Jane Subway station. This role is an hybrid position with a requirement to attend the office 2 days a week, or more depending on the needs of the business, in a schedule of Monday to Friday, 9AM – 5PM.

About This Role:

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Marketing and Communications and following Company and Marketing and Communications Department policies and procedures, the Senior Marketing Specialist plays a pivotal role in our marketing and communications team. This position is responsible for the development and execution of comprehensive, integrated marketing strategies aimed at generating new leads and nurturing relationships with existing customers across Arbor Memorial funeral homes and cemeteries within the communities they serve.

Key Qualifications and Demonstrated Abilities:

  • Minimum college-level education in Communications, Marketing, or related field; University education preferred.
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in marketing communications, with expertise in digital marketing, campaign development and project management. Campaign experience may include direct mail, branding, grass roots events, seminars, affinity relationships, or similar.
  • Proficiency in working with agencies, external partners within established brand guidelines.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, including copywriting.
  • Excellent project management skills with demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, manage and deliver multiple demands.
  • Self-motivated team player with a keen attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills and ability to collaborate at all organizational levels.

  • Requirement to attend the office at least 2 days a week, but may at times require more depending on the needs of the business.

Responsibilities:

  • Through the process of understanding the unique business goals, competitive and market factors, develop and execute annual marketing plans, for a geographically defined group of Cemetery, and Funeral Homes., by understanding the value proposition and assessing their need gaps.
  • Partner with Regional Directors, General or Branch Managers to provide marketing insights and recommendations for digital, social, and traditional marketing programs
  • Collaborate with the digital, social, customer insights, CRM, and Media and Public Relations marketing teams to support the development and execution of regional marketing campaigns and initiatives.
  • Contribute to the development of the Annual Marketing and Communications business plan, including KPI and goal setting, budget requirements, and project plans.
  • Work with external advertising agencies, graphic design partners, and media sales to develop marketing creative in support of key initiatives, including reviewing media buys and contracts and exploring innovative marketing opportunities.
  • Perform ongoing research within the industry to stay current regarding industry activities. Review and analyze market and consumer research to better understand the needs and expectations of Canadian families.
  • Leverage online project management tools for streamlining workflows and on-time delivery to support new product launch and drive demand.
  • Working in conjunction with the department of Regulatory Affairs to ensure all marketing activities comply with Federal and Provincial laws and company policies.
  • Support cross-functional collaboration with other departments, fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork.
  • Limited travel may be required.
  • Other duties as required.
