Sr. Financial Analyst, Corporate Planning

The Financial Analyst, Corporate Planning & Reporting is responsible for the organization's strategic / financial planning, alignment of all key corporate functions to the organizational strategy, and for internal and external reporting of corporate performance. The incumbent will also manage analytical and research activities supporting the organization's strategic, short-term, and long-range goal planning function .

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Planning and budgeting:

  • Build and maintain financial tools to analyze the financial performance of the company, operating budgets, and financial/operational targets.
  • Ensure robust forecasts are in place having challenged and interrogated the key inputs with the relevant team members.
  • Produce and submit monthly consolidated forecast aligned to management and stretch plan objectives, working with finance managers and business managers.

Business Performance Management:

  • Responsible for the management and development of the business's KPI infrastructure in order to facilitate analysis and reporting of performance against plans and budgets as well as strategic objectives.
  • Supervise performance indicators, highlighting trends and analysing causes of unexpected variance.

Reporting and risk management:

  • Lead monthly/quarterly/annual reporting including financial performance and ad hoc reporting within LG Canada and HQ deadlines.
  • Prepare valuable reporting and analysis to support management and identify significant trends/issues, e.g. monitoring performance versus plan, customer/product profitability etc.
  • Analyze market research and data to develop and strengthen business cases and scenarios.
  • Responsible for the development of weekly/quarterly/annual strategic risk reports for the senior strategy management as well as the business's top leadership.

Strategic initiatives:

  • Responsible for discovering and developing planning process efficiency and building innovative tools to streamline the process flow.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to review key strategic priorities and develop strong and collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams to key strategic priorities and translates them into actionable and quantitative plans

KNOWLDEGE, SKILLLS & ABILITIES

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Industrial Management Finance, Economics, or any other related business field
  • 3+ years of working experience in FP&A as an individual contributor, experience preferred .
  • Experience being a central piece of a wide range of strategic decision-making processes and as a result have become comfortable assessing a business and making appropriate choices.
  • Must be a strong communicator, both verbally and in written form (Korean / English).
  • Possess an ability to translate raw information into actionable strategies and initiatives. Ability to perform standard analyses such as performance analyses, competitive analyses, market analyses, etc.
  • Must demonstrate strong attention to detail, have high-energy and a proactive nature, have a positive can-do attitude, be result-driven, have exceptional problem-solving skills, and work comfortably in a group/collaborative setting.
  • Must also be able to work comfortably with business executives and leadership, have an ability to multitask and meet aggressive deadlines, and demonstrate an ability to stay calm under pressure.
  • Proven ability to lead, inspire, and motivate a team into consistent performance improvement.
  • Ability to implement change process to streamline and make existing processes more efficient.
  • Ability to work in a high pressure environment, take quick and effective decisions and direct others.
  • Excellent analytical skills to understand business drivers and interpret financial results.
  • MS Office: The candidate will also demonstrate proficiency in the use of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (Advanced knowledge of VBA Macros strong asset)
