Compassionate Caregiver Responsibilities/duties
Client Care:
Respond to Indication of Interest emails (alert emails sent to volunteers in order to assess available resources for a new client's needs) in a timely fashion
Sign up for client caregiving duties (which may come directly from the HHA Chapter Community or through an agency partner)
Carry out your assigned duties, including maintaining records of care provided - remember, you have made a commitment to help the client - they are relying on you to help them!
Community Engagement ~ participate in one or more of the following:
Join a working team to plan and facilitate Community outreach projects such as:
Education events to normalize death ie: Death Cafes
Fundraising events and activities ie: PAWcasso's Studio
Participate in Chapter events such as The Moonlit Memory Walk
Assist with or participate in public awareness activities ie: social media, networking and Agency partner events
Requirements:
Complete:
HHA's Compassionate Caregiving online training (independent study)
Virtual Pre and Post training interviews
Community engagement activities will be discussed at the post training interview
Acknowledge and accept HHA's Code of Conduct and Confidentiality agreement
Provide a Vulnerable Sector Clearance Police Check
Adhere to the volunteer policies of an Agency Partner when assigned caregiving duties for their client
Skills Required:
Goals of the Compassionate Caregiver Program in a community:

Ensure the work done by HHA is recognized as a valuable community resource

Conduct successful fundraising and public awareness events that educate and support the financial needs of clients and Agency Partners

Have the human resources in place to meet the current and future needs of clients (HHA and partnering agency clients)

Work collaboratively to establish and grow community partnerships
The role of the Compassionate Caregiver:

Care for current and future clients of HHA and partner agencies in the Chapter community

Educate and inform about the resources and support available through HHA and its agency partners
