The COO will be the senior operational leader, responsible for translating the strategic vision into operational reality and ensuring the effective, efficient, and ethical running of the organization. This role involves leading operational strategic planning, driving day-to-day operations, and maintaining a robust risk management framework. The successful candidate will also have financial oversight and compliance responsibilities, including budget development and stewardship, and will be accountable for the organization's overall operational performance. The ideal candidate will have significant senior leadership experience in operations management, particularly within a not-for-profit, mission-driven environment. Essential qualifications include a proven track record in leading complex, multi-functional operations, deep experience in not-for-profit governance, and strong financial acumen. The COO will also be responsible for people leadership, network building, and stakeholder engagement, with a focus on championing equity, diversity, and inclusion. Experience in health, pediatrics, neuroscience, or a related field is valued, as is a post-graduate qualification in a relevant discipline.
