At Summit Valve, your hard work does not go unnoticed. We are a Western Canadian based distributor of valves, actuators, and instrumentation products. We need an exceptional Warehouse Assistant to join our team.

What does this mean?

In this role, the warehouse assistant will be responsible for supporting Summit's shipping and receiving operations by ensuring accurate, timely document processing and system updates. This role contributes to maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and supports all areas of warehouse operation.

Key Responsibilities include:

Logistics

Communicate with customers, venders, truck dispatchers and coworkers to share updates or solve problems.
Address issues and concerns to minimize impact on product delivery.
Contact customers regarding shipments as necessary.
Coordinate shipping pickups and drop-offs.
Get delivery price quotes and help arrange international shipments.
Perform timely data entry for received products and maintain Receiving Logs.
Print Purchase Orders, Pick slips, shipping documents
Scan and file documentation into SharePoint.

Warehouse

Greet and assist delivery representatives and customers.
Perform product inspection.
Pick and Package orders for shipping
Measure product dimensions, assist with packing, and compare final product to specifications as required .
Take pictures of products and upload them into the appropriate software systems.
Operate forklifts and assist in both shipping and receiving functions.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.

General

Work closely with the Team Lead, Fulfillment to identify problem areas and develop solutions.
Collaborate with team members to ensure mutual understanding of expectations.
Ensure compliance with Summit's Quality Management System (QMS).
Keep records and order updates accurate in Rootstock/Salesforce.
Manage and organize supporting documentation as necessary.
Participate in lessons learned sessions, identify improvements, and help implement corrective actions.
Provide redundancy and support to coworkers and departments as required.
Warehouse environment may include exposure ti noise, dust, fumes, oils, and environmental elements. Mostly indoors, with brief outdoor work.

Adaptability and willingness to take initiative.
Physical Requirements include lifting or moving up to 50-lbs ,standing for long periods of time, use of step-ladders . Ability to bend and contort to read hard to access labels, and good eyesight.

The successful candidate should have:

A high school diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED) is required.
Previous warehouse or logistics experience considered an asset.
Must supply CSA-approved protective footwear (Boot allowance available)
