Canadian Executive Search is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Molding Estimator to join its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional with hands-on experience in injection molding environments and a passion for precision in cost analysis.
As a Molding Estimator, you'll be responsible for preparing accurate and timely estimates for plastic molding projects. You'll collaborate closely with engineering, sales, and production teams to ensure proposals are competitive, realistic, and aligned with customer specifications and internal capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Review RFQs, technical drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements and scope.
- Develop detailed cost estimates for injection molding jobs, including materials, labor, tooling, cycle times, and overhead.
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to validate technical assumptions and ensure accurate costing.
- Obtain pricing from suppliers and subcontractors to support bid development.
- Prepare and submit comprehensive quote packages within required timelines.
- Maintain accurate historical data and pricing information to improve future estimates.
- Participate in customer discussions and internal reviews to clarify estimate details and cost justifications.
Qualifications
- 2-5 years of experience in cost estimating, preferably in injection molding or tool & die environments.
- Technical diploma or degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- In-depth understanding of injection molding processes, tooling, materials, and production flow.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP or quoting software is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and solid math skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
