Project Manager - Land Development

The primary function of the Project Manager, Land Development, is to secure planning

approvals, engineering approvals, and service new developments to allow for home

construction.

Qualifications:

  • Post secondary education equivalent to a University degree or College Diploma

-Urban Planning or related field preferred;

  • 5+ years experience working in a Land Development or consulting environment, with a

strong understanding of the residential land development process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of the land development process;
  • Prepare and submit planning approval applications, including Official Plan Amendment,

Zoning Amendment, Draft Plan of Subdivision, Site Plan, Committee of Adjustment,

and Plan of Condominium;

  • Develop and maintain project budgets and schedules
  • Obtain clearances related to approvals for registration and assumption;
  • Co-ordinate project consultant team and contractors to ensure projects are completed

on schedule and on budget;

  • Prepare purchase proformas for Land Acquisition;
  • Prepare concept plans for subdivisions and site plans;
  • Conduct site visits as required;
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with municipalities, consultants, contractors

and key stakeholders to ensure project success;

  • Perform additional assignments and responsibilities as required;
  • Duties may change from time to time at the discretion of the Directors of Land

Development.

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of Planning Legislation and processes is a requirement;
  • Well-organized and a strong attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a requirement;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is a requirement;
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, ensuring compliance with project

budgets and anticipate and mitigate potential impacts to project deadlines/milestones;

  • Working knowledge of project management software and/or AutoCAD is desirable;
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate a collaborative attitude while working

with members of a team.
