Hays has partnered with an esteemed client in the property management space to search for a General Manager to join their team. This role will be responsible for the overall management and operation of a key commercial property and involves strategic planning, financial management, tenant relations, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Management: Oversee day-to-day operations of commercial properties, ensuring efficient and effective management.
  • Tenant Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with tenants, addressing their needs and concerns promptly.
  • Financial Management: Develop and manage budgets, monitor financial performance, and implement cost-saving measures.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of property management professionals, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute strategic plans to enhance property value and tenant satisfaction.
  • Compliance: Ensure all properties comply with local regulations and industry standards.
  • Marketing and Leasing: Collaborate with the marketing team to attract and retain tenants, and oversee leasing activities.

Qualifications:

  • Over 10 years of progressive management experience in property management, particularly in enclosed retail environments.
  • Relevant post-secondary education preferred, such as a business specialization or equivalent.
  • Preference for candidates with active designations like Real Property Administrator (RPA) or Certified Property Manager (CPM), or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience in retail, lease administration, marketing strategies, and accounting techniques.
  • Effective and professional communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with senior management, contractors, tenants, and the general public.
  • Proficiency in reading financial statements and understanding accounting and budgeting principles.
  • Excellent computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office programs.
