On behalf of our client, Procom is currently seeking a Cloud Solution Engineer - Microsoft Azure platform.

Cloud Solution Engineer - Microsoft Azure platform Job Details:

Develop a plan for cloud resiliency with the end goal being a roadmap for ensuring the ability of client's cloud-based systems, applications, and infrastructure to maintain functionality and availability despite disruptions or failures.
Develop good documentation practices to record network configurations and share knowledge with the team.
Participate in planning sessions with the IM&T stakeholders and technical contractors to create and execute on cutover checklist activities for applying landing zone networking changes to existing resources based on product line Azure resources which includes the following:
Understand Existing Resources: Before making any changes, thoroughly understand the existing Azure resources and their network configurations. Identify the products, applications, and services that need networking adjustments.
Document the existing architecture at its lowest level including resource names and networking components.
Determine the networking requirements for the specific products or applications. This may include security, performance, scalability, and connectivity needs.
Virtual Network (VNet) Integration: If the existing resources are not already in a Virtual Network (VNet), assist with moving them into VNets to provide better isolation and security without breaking the application or product.
Network Security Groups (NSGs): Apply NSGs to control inbound and outbound traffic to the resources. Define security rules based on the applications' requirements.
Application Security Groups (ASGs): Use ASGs to group related resources (e.g., VMs or services) and apply NSG rules based on application dependencies.
Traffic Routing: Configure custom route tables to control traffic flow between subnets or to route traffic to specific services or appliances.
Monitoring and Alerts: Set up monitoring and alerting using Azure Monitor to track the performance and security of the resources. Creating custom alerts to be notified of any issues.
Optimization: Continuously assist with optimizing the network configuration for cost-efficiency and performance. Adjust resources and configurations based on changing needs.
Communicate the network changes to relevant stakeholders and provide training as necessary to ensure that everyone understands the new configurations and their impact on the applications.
After applying the network configurations, monitor the resources and network for any issues or performance bottlenecks. Make necessary adjustments as needed.
Implement security best practices to protect cloud environments from cyber threats and unauthorized access, which can help prevent disruptions caused by security breaches.

The Cloud Solution Architect will also be available to offer mentoring and support with other initiatives in support of client operational activities and other ongoing or new engagements.

Cloud Solution Engineer - Microsoft Azure platform Mandatory Skills:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent combination of related experience, education, and training.
5+ years of experience as a Cloud Solutions Engineer or similar role, with focused experience in cloud resiliency and disaster recovery
3+ years of experience designing and implementing cloud solutions on the Azure cloud platform
3+ years of experience in infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform
3+ years of experience in Azure network security best practices, network segmentation, firewall configuration, Hub and Spoke topology Experience managing relationships with senior level stakeholders and leading consultation sessions
Demonstrated experience writing technical design and solution documents
Experience with disaster recovery technologies and techniques, including backup and restore, data replication, and failover mechanisms
Certifications such as Cloud Solutions Engineer

Cloud Solution Engineer - Microsoft Azure platform Assignment Length

6 Months with possible two 3 months extensions (37.5 hours per week)

The client operates within a Hybrid work environment. Services may be performed remotely, however, there may be times when the individual will be required to be in the office (on-site) due to the nature of the business requirements. (for example: during key milestone events). The services must be performed during the core workday (between 8am to 5pm Pacific Time).
