POWERGROUP Resources is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Payroll Administrator to manage payroll processing for multiple clients across a variety of industries. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment where payroll information is received in different formats, through various systems, and requires careful review, organization, and processing.

The successful candidate will be comfortable working with multiple deadlines, adapting to different client processes, and ensuring payroll is completed accurately and on time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process payroll for multiple client accounts on a weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly basis.
  • Review, validate, and organize payroll data received through various sources, including spreadsheets, timekeeping systems, emails, reports, and client portals.
  • Enter and reconcile payroll information across different payroll platforms and software systems.
  • Ensure payroll calculations, deductions, benefits, vacation pay, bonuses, and statutory remittances are processed accurately.
  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Maintain employee records and payroll documentation while ensuring confidentiality.
  • Respond to client and employee payroll inquiries professionally and efficiently.
  • Prepare payroll reports, remittances, Records of Employment (ROEs), and year-end payroll documentation.
  • Stay current with payroll legislation and compliance requirements.

Requirements

  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation or working toward certification is considered an asset.
  • Solid experience with all payroll related reconciliations, including T4, EHT and WSIB.
  • Minimum 2 years of payroll experience, preferably in a multi-client, accounting, bookkeeping, or payroll service environment.
  • Experience working with multiple payroll and timekeeping systems.
  • Experience with QuickBooks.
  • Strong understanding of payroll legislation, deductions, source remittances, and payroll compliance.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and payroll software.
  • Excellent communication and client service skills, with direct experience handling payroll inquiries with clients and employees.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines and manage a high volume of work.

Benefits

  • Salary - $60,000 - $65,000 based on experience and skills.
