The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (EECD) is seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to join the Centre of Excellence for Language Learning as the French Language Learning Consultant. This position is within the Digital Learning and System Excellence Branch of the Anglophone Educational Services Division.
As the Language Learning Consultant, you will work with educators, school districts, Francophone organizations, post-secondary institutions, government, industry, and community partners. You will build educator capacity and expand authentic experiential, virtual, immersive, and community-connected learning opportunities for students.
The Role:
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Digital Learning and System Excellence, the successful candidate will lead the development and implementation of innovative, curriculum-connected learning opportunities that strengthen French language acquisition, Francophone cultural learning, and awareness of career opportunities across New Brunswick. The successful candidate`s primary responsibilities will include:
- Lead Centre Operations and Communication by coordinating French language and culture initiatives, managing projects, events, communications, digital platforms, reporting, and program data to support continuous improvement and demonstrate impact.
- Build and manage Strategic Partnerships with organizations, educators, school districts, post-secondary institutions, government, industry, and community partners to expand learning opportunities and identify funding and in-kind support.
- Develop resources and build educator capacity by coordinating curriculum-connected resources, teacher supports, experiential learning materials, and professional training that strengthen French language instruction, cultural learning, and educator confidence.
- Design and deliver experiential and career-connected learning including virtual learning, workplace experiences, exchanges, cultural events, micro-internships, and community-connected opportunities that connect students with Centre partners.
- Lead the Innovation Network Program by coordinating proposals and grants, agreements, budgets, communications, implementation, technology and resource requests, accountability requirements, and program reporting.
- Provide Provincial Leadership and Collaboration by identifying emerging opportunities, sharing promising practices, supporting consistent implementation across school districts, and collaborating with Centre Leads and departmental teams to advance priorities related to French language learning, bilingualism, experiential education, and intercultural understanding.

You believe authentic learning experiences can inspire students to communicate confidently in French, appreciate cultural diversity, and explore opportunities where bilingualism is an asset.
Your attitude, skills and interests are just as important as your area of study. We are looking for diverse backgrounds that bring a combination of the following:
Need to have:
- Bachelor`s degree in, French, Modern Languages, Linguistics, Second Language Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or another related field.
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience in one or more of the following:
- Program or project management;
- French language education;
- Partnership development;
- Experiential learning;
- Educational program development; or
- Professional learning or curriculum implementation.
- Demonstrated experience leading projects and coordinating complex initiatives with multiple partners.
- Experience building partnerships with educational institutions, cultural organizations, community groups, government, or industry.
- Experience collecting, analyzing, and reporting program data to support planning and continuous improvement.

Written and spoken competencies in English and French are required. Please state your language capability on your application.
Nice to have:
- Experience developing educational resources, coordinating professional learning, or supporting curriculum implementation.
- Experience using digital technologies to coordinate projects, communications, and online resources.
- Knowledge of K-12 education systems, French language acquisition, second-language pedagogy, experiential learning, or professional learning will be considered an asset.

Wage
Pay Band 5: $68,614 - $95,810 annually.
Work environment:
- Office location: 250 King Street, Fredericton.
