Who we are:

The employees of the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development develop programs and offer services that support parents and educators and encourage learners, from birth to 20 years old, to achieve lasting and transferable learning that will serve them throughout their lives.

The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development is seeking an individual to fill the position of Instructional Designer in the Éducation inclusive au secondaire (9-12) unit of the Secteur des services éducatifs francophones division in Fredericton.

What you will do:

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and updating instructional materials for media-based training in the Francophone education sector. This person will also be tasked with overseeing instructional design as part of the online courseware team reporting to the director of continuing education and distance learning.

• Collaborating with other instructional designers, subject matter experts, provincial learning specialists and the development team
• Managing the development of distance learning and online courses
• Conceptualizing online learning and overseeing its integration into the D2L platform
• Improving and updating selected online courses
• Staying abreast of new trends in distance learning

Required Competencies:

• Bachelor`s degree in education, arts or a related field
• Minimum of four years` experience in instructional design
• Familiarity with the D2L Brightspace platform
• Experience in project management
• An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Written and spoken competence in French is required. Please state your language capability.

Applicants must clearly demonstrate the essential qualifications to be given further consideration. Please ensure that preferred language for assessment is identified on your resume.

Nice to have:

• Diploma in educational technology or master`s degree in a related field
• Familiarity with Articulate Storyline software and the Microsoft Office suite
• Ability to use certain artificial intelligence (AI) tools

Wage:

Pay Band 6 - $3 066 - $4 079 annually.

Work environment:

• Office location: 250 King Street, Fredericton
• Telework opportunities within New Brunswick
• Standard hours of work: Monday to Friday, 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
