The Position
The Overdose Prevention Site (OPS) Coordinator supports the delivery of low-barrier harm reduction services, including delivery of drug checking service, by coordinating daily site operations, scheduling shifts, and fostering collaboration among staff, peers, and community partners. The role contributes to a safe, welcoming, and participant-centered environment by guiding OPS staff, supporting client care, and ensuring services are consistent with harm reduction, trauma-informed, and culturally safe practices.

Qualifications
- Diploma in a human services field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience coordinating services for people with lived and living experience of substance use.
- Knowledge of harm reduction, trauma-informed practice, and culturally safe care.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and conflict de-escalation skills.
- Knowledge of WorkSafeBC safety programs and critical incident reporting.
- Familiarity with Google Suite and Microsoft Office applications.
- Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check clearance.
- Valid Drivers license and vehicle
- Successful completion of BCCSU Drug Checking Technician Training within two months of appointment.

Working Condition and Physical Requirements
- Responds to medical emergencies such as overdoses, falls, and mental health crises.
- Uses industrial-strength cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Must be physically able to safely lift up to 50lbs.
