REFRIGERATION APPRENTICE (BAND LEVEL 6)
(TECHNOLOGIST II)

DUTIESUnder general supervision, the Refrigeration Apprentice will be required to perform apprentice-level tasks in accordance with standard trade practices. Duties include supporting the maintenance and repair of refrigeration equipment such as refrigerators, ultra-low freezers, refrigerated centrifuges, and chillers used for experimental, instructional, and research purposes. The successful candidate may also support the cryogenics shop, including dispensing of cryogenic liquids, as well as other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONSSuccessful candidates must have completed pre-apprenticeship (entry-level) training at a recognized institution toward journey-person certification in the respective trade. Candidates currently enrolled in pre-apprenticeship training will also be considered. Applicants must be eligible to enter the apprenticeship program under the Department of Education (Industrial Training Section). Possession of a valid driver's license and driver's abstract, as issued by the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador, is required.
SALARY $36,054.60 - $60,531.30 per annum (CUPE 1615) based on year of apprenticeship program
