The Opportunity:
The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (EECD) supports lifelong learning and ensures high-quality education and care for children and students across the province.
The Early Childhood Development Division is responsible for overseeing all operational support services for licensed and designated early learning and childcare facilities in New Brunswick. This team is also responsible for overseeing the Canada-New Brunswick, Canada-Wide Early Learning and Childcare Agreement which supports transformative initiatives aimed at building a high-quality, affordable, inclusive and accessible early learning and childcare sector that families can count on and where children receive the necessary services to reach their full potential.
The Role:
Reporting to Director of Early Childhood Operational Support Services, the Program Consultant will be working to ensure quality and effective program delivery within the branch.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Developing and revising program policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines.
- Designing new and/or revising existing programs.
- Responding to questions and concerns from operators, educators, and parents predominantly in French.
- Providing support in the interpretation of program policies, procedures, guidelines and standards as it relates to the delivery of programs and services.
- Monitoring operations compliance with provincial program guidelines, procedures, policies, standards, and regulations.
- Performing validations on reporting, financial payment calculations, track and perform adjustments.

Need to have:
- University degree in social sciences, or business administration, or a related field.
- A minimum of five (5) years of related work experience, two (2) of which should be in the early childhood field.
- Demonstrated effective relationship management with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong written and oral skills in French.
- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
Written and spoken competence in English and French is required. Please state your language capability. Level 3+ (advanced plus) is required for the position. This level is characterized by the ability to speak the language with sufficient ease to participate informal and informal exchanges in a variety of contexts.

Salary:
Pay Band 5: $67,600 - $94,406 annually.
