The Custom Application Development team is responsible for developing and maintaining applications using traditional development tools and low code/no code platforms, as well as configuring customs off the shelf application platforms such as ServiceNow.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Coding, testing and debugging of applications and automations
- Design and analysis of new and existing applications and automations
- Utilizing application life cycle methodologies following standards and best practices
- Configuring and customizing ServiceNow applications, integrations, and plugins/spokes
- Prepare technical documentation, including test results, and technical manuals
- Review and identify new platform features that can be enabled for the business
- Share system administration responsibility with other team members
The ideal candidate will have one of the following:
- Bachelor of Computer Science or equivalent with concentration in software development
OR - ServiceNow certification combined with relevant experience
Combined with:
- Proficiency in computer programming and scripting
- Good analytical skills (problem solving)
- Understanding of relational databases
- Understanding of software development life cycle
- Ability to communicate effectively
Experience or knowledge of the following would be considered assets:
- ServiceNow certification (Application Developer, System Administrator or Architect)
- ServiceNow Workflow Studio, App Engine Studio.
- Scripting (JavaScript)
- SOAP/REST API development
- Other low-code/no-code platforms
- ITIL Foundation certification
An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be modified.
An Eligibility List generated from this competition may be used to fill future vacancies at the same level within a period of up to 12 months.
