Job Title: General Labour (Events)

Location: Hamilton, ON

Shifts: Afternoons, Evenings, Nights - Casual, ON-CALL

Pay: $17.60/hour

General Labour associates are responsible for the setup and teardown of event spaces in downtown Hamilton (athletics, musical, and professional events). This is a hands-on, fast-paced role that ensures events run smoothly and efficiently. Associates must be prepared for last-minute scheduling requests. YOU MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK CASUAL, ON-CALL SHIFTS WITH FLEXIBLE AVAILABLILTY ON SHORT NOTICE .

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and arrange event spaces by setting up staging, furniture, equipment, and signage according to client requirements.
• Dismantle event setups and return venues to their original condition following event completion.
• Safely lift, transport, and handle materials and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs as needed.
• Work closely with event supervisors and team members to ensure efficient, timely execution of event operations.
• Adhere to all workplace health and safety regulations, including the mandatory use of steel-toed safety footwear.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment at all times.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a general labour role.
• Fluent in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
• Available for flexible, on-call shifts.
• Able to lift 10-50lbs during a shift.
• Reliable and punctual.
• Able to meet uniform requirements (plain black shirt and pants, CSA Safety shoes).
