Salary: To be commensurate with qualifications and experience in the range of $58,461 -$68,778.

Acadia is seeking a Financial Analyst within the Department of Financial Services to play a key role in supporting the University's financial management and research accounting activities. This position serves as one of the primary points of contact within Financial Services for researchers and their supporting staff, providing financial guidance, reporting support, and assistance with university financial systems.
Reporting to the Executive Director, Finance, the Financial Analyst will support the administration and financial management of research grants and funding, ensuring compliance with funding agreements and the accuracy of financial reporting. The role is responsible for research invoicing, managing research receivables, reconciling financial reports, and coordinating with external funding agencies and organizations.
The Financial Analyst will develop and maintain comprehensive research accounts receivable reporting, while also supporting the development of processes and procedures for integrating data from Colleague Finance into research financial reporting tools. Working closely with the Manager, Research Accounting, the position contributes to the effective financial oversight and administration of all research accounting activities.
In addition, the Financial Analyst will collaborate with other members of the Finance team and provide project management support for various departmental initiatives and projects.
- Completion of a post-secondary program with a concentration in accounting or business is required.
- Enrolment in, or willingness to pursue, a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation is considered an asset.
- Experience working with relational database accounting systems is considered an asset.
- Demonstrated proficiency in computerized accounting systems and Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
- Experience delivering training or supporting system users is considered an asset.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with demonstrated accuracy, sound judgement, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain financial information to a variety of stakeholders.
