Bragg Resources a member of the Oxford Food Group located in Debert Nova Scotia. Bragg Resources is an operating tree seedling nursery that produces approximately six million seedlings annually for reforestation.

Position Scope:

The Nursery Crop Irrigation position assists in the growing of tree seedlings within both greenhouse and outdoor environments. The position plays an active role to ensure the greenhouse environment is properly maintained and kept clean. Additional responsibilities include repairing overhead waterlines and assisting with the loading of seedlings for shipment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Grow and tend to tree seedlings within the greenhouse and outdoor environments.
  • Monitor seedling growth and maintain optimal moisture, nutrient levels, and temperatures.
  • Identify and report potential growth issues, pests, or diseases to the Crop Lead.
  • Remove weeds within the crop and maintain the surrounding grounds.
  • Perform independent weekend shifts to ensure continuous crop maintenance.
  • Collaborate with and assist other nursery staff as required.
  • Other duties as reasonably assigned.

Work Environment & Physical

  • On-site greenhouse environment
  • Lifting up to 16 kg (35 lbs).
  • Use of personal Protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Work in extreme weather conditions, including heat and rain.

Qualification & Experience

  • Occupational First Aid License is not a requirement but would be considered an asset.
  • Pesticide Applicator's license is not a requirement but would be considered an asset.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team member.
  • Follow established policies and procedures.

Training

On the job training will be provided to the right candidate.

All employees must provide their own CSA-certified, over-the-ankle work boots.
