Bragg Resources a member of the Oxford Food Group located in Debert Nova Scotia. Bragg Resources is an operating tree seedling nursery that produces approximately six million seedlings annually for reforestation.

Position Scope:

The Machine Operator and Maintenance person will be responsible for any assigned task involving the operation of any mobile equipment on site. Most tasks are required as a part of a larger job that other nursery employees are doing and coordination with other team members is required. Tasks include (but are not limited to), helping set up greenhouses by moving in stacks of pallets, removing pallets from over top of crops, assisting seeding crew, moving crops from greenhouses to outside, loading trucks, mowing, etc.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate mobile equipment: Skid steer, loader, forklift, tractor, and ATVs.
• Perform daily pre-start checks and maintenance of equipment.
• Perform maintenance of buildings, grounds, and seed orchards.
• Assist in general nursery labour functions as required.
• Perform any other duties assigned by Maintenance Lead or Nursery Supervisor.

Work Environment & Physical:

• On-site greenhouse environment.
• Lifting up to 16 kg (35 lbs).
• Use of personal Protective equipment (PPE) as required.
• Work in extreme weather conditions, including heat and rain.

Qualification & Experience:

• Previous experience in a similar role is not required but is considered an asset.
• Occupational First Aid License is not a requirement but would be considered an asset.
• On the job training will be provided to the right candidate.

• Willingness to work alone when required.
