About the Department/Region
Context: The Information Technology (IT) Department ensures that the corporations IT infrastructure, security, software and communications needs are met. The department is made up of three core sections – IT Infrastructure and Operations, Systems Development and Security. The Security section ensures the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the organization's IT systems and data. It is responsible for securing the network, detecting and responding to cybersecurity threats, and implementing security protocols and policies.

Duties:
Reporting to the Director, Information Technology the Senior IT Security Analyst will work as a critical team member in our Information Technology Department and will play an essential role in proactively managing and maintaining security within NLHC's IT environment. The Senior IT Security Analyst is responsible:
Translates corporate IT security strategies into effective technical solutions.
Implements, supports and maintains the organization's IT security infrastructure and monitors security incidents.
Develops and delivers the Security Awareness Education and training program.
Contributes to IT Audit initiatives and compliance activities.
Acts as a security subject-matter expert, advising IT staff in resolving technical security issues.
Develops and maintains enterprise security strategies and roadmaps for cloud and on-prem environments.
Implements security infrastructure and network segmentation to ensure security best practices and least-privilege access.
Develops and reviews security SOWs, assessments and reports from external vendors/partners.
Conducts threat hunting and security monitoring across enterprise systems such as network, endpoint and cloud-based systems.
Leads incident response, digital forensics and containment activities for security incidents.
Designs, implements and maintains cybersecurity policies, procedures and standards.
Manages and monitors the Managed Detection and Response (MDR) platform for metrics, dashboards and artifacts.
Researches emerging threats and technologies to continuously improve security posture.
Leads vulnerability identification, prioritization and remediation to reduce organizational risk.
Assists leadership in understanding security risk and making informed decisions.
Ensures secure system configuration, hardening and patching.
Contributes to disaster recovery planning, testing and remediation.
Screening Criteria
Completion of a degree or diploma in Computer Studies (equivalences may be considered)
Extensive varied experience in an IT Security environment
Experience working in infrastructure related technologies
Experience developing IT Policies and Procedures
Experience/training in Cyber Security and/or IT Audit (Asset)
Experience Managing Projects (Asset)
Assessment Criteria
Knowledge of Network and Security related technologies, (i.e. Routers, Switching, Firewalls, Managed Detection and Response (MDR), Mobile Device Management (MDM), Wireless, Microsoft Intune, Multi-factor Authentication (MFA), Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), Email Security, Certificates, Patch Management, SFTP, VPN, DMZ, TCP/IP, DHCP and DNS.)
Knowledge of infrastructure related technologies, including Physical and Virtual Servers, VMWARE, SAN Storage, backup and restore technologies, Telephony and Collaboration systems and Cloud Services.
Knowledge of Server and Database technologies, including Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft M365/Azure, Microsoft Active Directory/Entra ID, Microsoft Intune, Microsoft OneDrive, Microsoft SQL, Microsoft SharePoint, Oracle and Citrix.
Knowledge of IT security best practices, policies, procedures and standards.
