This is a three-year, full-service joint venture located in the city of Greater Sudbury, Ontario. Last mined in 2017, the Stobie property is ramping back up in response to the world's increasing demand for critical minerals, and social and economic benefits for the local communities. We are currently seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to join our Stobie Open Pit Mining Project team in Sudbury. Relocation will be required for this role if you reside outside of reasonable commuting distance to Sudbury, Ontario, Canada. This is a permanent on-site position, currently working on a rotation schedule (7 days on/7 days off; 12-hour shifts; days and nights). This posting is for an existing position vacancy. As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you will provide a full range of services while working within an open pit environment, following established work procedures and company policies to ensure efficient operations within a safety conscious environment. Additionally, in this position you may be required to:
  • Operate mobile equipment such as excavator, shovel and production loader.
  • Follow all established policies, procedures, and best practices as well as industry specific regulations.
  • Work closely and cooperatively with peers and supervisor to achieve the objectives of the plant in a safe and professional manner.

About You Education:
  • Grade 10 completed is required.
  • Surface Common Core (770210) required
  • Specialty Module - U5034: Operate Excavating Equipment (or equivalent experience as determined by the company and subject to verification)
  • Specialty Module- U5039: Wheel Loader (considered an asset)
Experience:
  • 2-3 years' experience operating mid to large size excavator or shovel (electric or hydraulic)
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
  • Mining or heavy industrial construction experience considered an asset.
Skills:
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and work well with others in a team environment.
  • Written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be obsessed with safety and risk.
  • Demonstrate open and transparent dialogue in all aspects of work.
