Team Lead, Training & Development

Key Responsibilities:
We are seeking a motivated and engaged professional to join our Training & Development team in a temporary Team Lead role. This opportunity arises as the current Team Lead focuses on the implementation of Hydro's new Learning Management System (LMS). The temporary position offers a unique opportunity to step into a Team Lead role, gain exposure to people leadership and organizational training strategy, and contribute meaningfully to the evolution of Hydro's training and development programs.
In this role, you will lead a team of Training Administrators and HR staff in the implementation of the Hydro training plan and corporate development programs. You will oversee the budget management, support the development of training standards and explore new training programs and approaches. You will ensure continued functionality of the Learning Management System, the Developmental Performance Review system and Skills Pass learning platform. You will support the continued development of the corporate training matrix and work with senior leaders to provide tracking information to support their teams' completing required training.
This position is structured as a supported leadership and learning opportunity. The successful candidate will report to the Manager, Employee Development & Recruitment and will receive ongoing guidance and coaching from both the Manager and the current Team Lead, Training & Development throughout the assignment, ensuring continuity of service and a positive developmental experience.
What You'll Need:
A relevant university degree or post‑secondary diploma is required, preferably in a safety, technical or business field, along with progressively responsible work experience, including supervisory or leadership experience. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, excellent written and oral communication abilities, and strong computer skills, including demonstrated Excel competency. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
