Job Summary
The Registered Nurse II (Care Facilitator) is a registered nurse who functions is a leadership capacity, coordinating the daily activities of the unit, including admissions, discharge and transfer of patients. The Nurse II will be accountable for the continuity and coordination of patient care utilizing clinical judgment and critical thinking skills, assist with the development, implementation and evaluation of quality and patient safety initiatives and ensure a high standard of patient care is maintained. The Care Facilitator will evaluate the effectiveness of patient care through such mechanisms as team conferences, ongoing feedback with team members/patients/family and review of staff assignments, participates as an active team member and acts as a liaison for team members in the interdisciplinary provision of care, facilitates and coordinates patient/family care with other disciplines, departments and programs and performs other related duties as required.

Regularly performs fine finger/precision work on the computer or with machines that require accurate control and steadiness.
Visual concentration is required to view and report on documents, assess workplace situations, and/or to monitor the workplace regarding health, safety and risk management issues.
Job Qualifications
Graduation from an approved/recognized post-secondary nursing education program with a Baccalaureate degree in Nursing or equivalent education or training is required.
Current practicing licensure with the College of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador (CRNNL).
BLS Certification.
Minimum of five years? experience within the last seven years in pediatrics, including two years of experience in pediatric surgical experience, is required.
Demonstrates competency in organizational, leadership, interpersonal, team building, communication, teaching and decision-making skills.
Demonstrates initiative and ability to work independently.
Demonstrated progressive leadership is a requirement.
Evidence of active involvement or willingness to participate in continuing professional education development.
Experience in facilitating staff and student clinical initiatives.
Membership in professional organizations/special interest groups would be considered and asset.
Knowledge of continuous quality improvement concepts.
A satisfactory record of work performance is required.
