ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
NL Health Services ? Eastern Urban Zone invites applications for an Adolescent Medicine Pediatrician to join the Child Health Program, Division of Pediatrics, at the Janeway Children's Health and Rehabilitation Centre in St. John's, NL.
The successful candidate will provide specialized adolescent medicine health care for adolescents in both outpatient and inpatient care settings, assuming an equitable share of the inpatient and outpatient demands of the Division. On-call responsibilities include inpatient coverage under the Adolescent Medicine Service during evening hours and weekends, shared with the other Adolescent Medicine Pediatrician, as well as on-call for Adolescent Medicine consultation for patients with eating disorders Monday to Friday 08:00?16:00, also shared equitably.
As a member of a multidisciplinary team, the successful candidate will be responsible for the provision of clinical care within the scope of Adolescent Medicine and teaching of medical learners.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Adolescent Medicine
- Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador (www.cpsnl.ca)
- Must satisfy credentialing requirements of NL Health Services including a satisfactory criminal record check and vulnerable sector check
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide specialized adolescent medicine care in both inpatient and outpatient settings
- Assume an equitable share of inpatient and outpatient demands of the Division of Pediatrics
- Provide on-call inpatient coverage for the Adolescent Medicine Service during evenings and weekends
- Provide on-call Adolescent Medicine consultation for patients with eating disorders Monday to Friday 08:00?16:00
- Contribute to the teaching and training of medical learners
- Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Support person- and family-centered care; promote patient and worker safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks, and implementing improvements
REMUNERATION
Remuneration will be in accordance with the Memorandum of Agreement for salaried physicians in Newfoundland and Labrador. Starting salary will be based on years of clinical experience.
