The Department of Public Safety is seeking an individual to join the Technical Inspection Services (TIS) Branch as a Plumbing Inspector. With satellite offices throughout the province TIS is seeking an individual to provide inspection services to the Moncton based inspection territory. The successful candidate may be assigned to other regions in the province depending on operational needs.
What you will do
As a Plumbing Inspector and a member of the TIS unit, the successful candidate will be responsible for technical inspection of plumbing and on-site sewage disposal system installations in accordance with the Plumbing Installation and Inspection Act and the Public Health Act, Regulations and various adopted codes and standards respectively. As the successful candidate, you will report to the inspection supervisor.

Need to have (their essential skills and qualifications)
- Valid plumbing licence with 3 years experience
- Successful candidates will be required to undergo a criminal history clearance and security clearance check.
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
Written and spoken competence in English is required, please state your language capability

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: The following operational requirement(s) is also required:
- Valid NB class 5 Driver's licence
- Successful candidates will be required to pass provided training for on-site sewage disposal system installations
Nice to Have (their asset qualifications)
- Backflow testing licence and testing experience
- Cross Connection control training from recognized organization
Subject to the response to this competition, candidates may be required to demonstrate on their application one or more of the asset qualifications in addition to the essential qualifications in order to be given further consideration.

Wage
$2,341.00 - $2,948.00 Biweekly (Technical Services Inspector II) based on education and experience
Work environment
- Office location: Marysville Place, Fredericton.
- Office layout: Work primarily from home and vehicle with touch down at office/satellite office periodically, for data entry, admin Assistance, etc.
- Your Team: (10 inspectors)
- Standard hours of work: Monday - Friday, 8:15-4:30
