SCHEDULE: Day, 8 and 12-hour shifts. Work schedule may be changed to meet operational needs.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Care Access Manager is reponsible for improving access to information for patients awaiting surgery in Zone 1 and for providing them with support in managing their wait times. The incumbent works in collaboration with the OR booking staff, the surgical team and management to develop tools to support the sound management of surgery wait lists. They must also ensure the quality of information transmitted to the provincial surgery registry. Other sectors of activity related to access or use could be added as required.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a health-related field and a minimum of five (5) years of experience in the healthcare sector. Any other combination of education and experience deemed equivalent may be considered;
  • Two years' management experience;
  • Knowledge or experience in the perioperative environment;
  • Work experience in information technology applied to the health care sector;
  • Strong computer skills;
  • Knowledge of descriptive statistics, their quality, and their interpretation;
  • Knowledge and understanding of medical terminology and procedures;
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and ability to make recommendations;
  • Knowledge of human resources management and conflict resolution principles;
  • Knowledge of quality improvement principles and procedures;
  • Experience in the development of policies and procedures;
  • Demonstrated ability to act as a change agent and leader;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member;
  • Physical ability to perform assigned duties;
  • Good previous work history (performance and attendance);
  • Adherence to professional ethics principles, to the Network management philosophy and organizational values;
  • Compliance with the rules of confidentiality established by the Vitalité Health Network.
