Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Strategic HR Partnership
Acts as the primary point of contact and a resource for all people related matters for leaders and employees.
Partner with senior leaders to understand business priorities and align people strategies with business priorities that enable organizational goals.
Use data, insights, and workforce analytics to advise on organizational challenges, trends, and opportunities.
Support change management initiatives, ensuring employees and leaders are set up for success.
Labour & Employee Relations
Provide guidance on the interpretation and application of collective agreements.
Coach and assist managers on matters related to discipline, performance, attendance, and workplace conflict.
Build effective relationships with union representatives and support routine union–management interactions.
Participate in grievance resolution, arbitration preparation, and labour-management committees.
Support organizational restructuring, job evaluation processes and role design
Support collective bargaining by contributing data, research, and recommendations.
Talent, Learning & Culture
Partner with leaders on identifying high potential talent, inform talent reviews, and ensure all employees have career development plan in place.
Support employees' retention and engagement initiatives and culture-building efforts.
Identify skill gaps and collaborate to develop learning solutions or development plans.
Champion diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging principles in all HR practices.
Conduct organization-wide training needs assessments and support the development of an annual learning strategy and training calendar aligned to business priorities and compliance requirements.
Coordinate end-to-end training logistics, including vendor management, budget oversight, Learning Management System (LMS) administration, compliance tracking, and program effectiveness reporting.
In collaboration with the Vice President, People, Culture & Belonging and Director, People & Inclusion, design and deliver engaging instructor-led, virtual, and hybrid training programs (e.g., leadership development, performance management, employee relations, communication, and change management, safety, regulatory).
Measure and analyze talent and training metrics (retention, engagement, participation, performance outcomes) to evaluate effectiveness and recommend continuous improvement initiatives.
HR Programs & Compliance
Support the implementation of HR programs, policies, and cyclical processes (e.g., compensation reviews, engagement surveys).
Ensure compliance with labour law, occupational health and safety standards, and human rights legislation.
Contribute to continuous improvement of HR processes and employee experience initiatives.
Qualifications
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
CPHR designation is required, candidates who are working towards the designation will be considered .
5+ years of progressive HR experience, including experience working in a unionized environment.
Solid understanding of collective agreements, labour relations processes, and applicable employment legislation.
Experience coaching leaders and supporting business units with people-related strategy and decisions.
Strong analytical capabilities and comfort working with HR data, metrics, and systems.

The salary range for this position is $74,900 to $101,300. This role is also eligible for free parking, a paid mobile device and may qualify for commuting allowance.
