What's the Opportunity

We are seeking an exceptional Senior Manager – QE Transformation Lead to drive the evolution from traditional Quality Assurance (QA) to intelligent Quality Engineering (QE) within our Investor Services Technology organization. Lead a strategic transformation initiative combining DevOps practices, advanced automation, and Generative AI to establish new quality standards within a major banking group, top 3 leader in GenAI.

What You Will Do

Strategic & Technical Leadership

  • Lead enterprise-wide QE transformation within RBC IS Business technology, transitioning teams from traditional QA to intelligent quality engineering practices

  • Leverage scalable automation frameworks and CI/CD integration across complex, mission-critical applications

  • Implement Generative AI–driven testing solutions to enhance test coverage, accelerate test creation, reduce defect cycles, and shift-left approach

  • Leverage/improve DevOps and testing automation pipelines to enable smarter regression, performance, and exploratory testing

  • Establish metrics-driven quality engineering practices aligned with RBC standards and industry best practices

People & Organizational Leadership

  • Manage and develop high-performing QE/DevOps automation teams, fostering innovation and continuous learning

  • Mentor team members on automation best practices, AI-enabled testing methodologies, and modern SDLC practices

  • Drive workforce upskilling initiatives to support transformation to QE and GenAI capabilities

  • Align resource planning and vendor coordination to support transformation objectives

  • Execute performance management processes with development plans and clear performance reviews

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with BA, Development, DevOps, GenAI, and Business stakeholders to align QE strategies with delivery goals

  • Communicate transformation vision and progress to senior leadership and technical teams

  • Lead change management initiatives to support adoption of new tools, frameworks, and methodologies

  • Support development of workforce skill sets to achieve strategic transformation goals

  • Showcase achievements using KPIs and metrics illustrating progress

What You Need to Succeed

Must-Have Qualifications

  • 10+ years of Quality Engineering/Quality Assurance experience, with 4+ years in people management and leading automation teams

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience developing and implementing test automation strategies, frameworks, and CI/CD pipeline automation

  • 3+ years of proven experience implementing Generative AI solutions to enhance testing (test case generation, defect prediction, intelligent test optimization)

  • 5+ years of DevOps and CI/CD/CT automation experience with demonstrated expertise in tools and frameworks

  • Proven track record as a thought leader in designing, leveraging and scaling DevOps/automation/QE solutions

  • Strong expertise across all facets of testing: test optimization, functional testing, automation frameworks, and quality metrics

  • Demonstrated experience managing and developing high-performing teams through organizational change and transformation

  • Excellent communication skills with ability to influence across technical and business audiences

  • Strong problem-solving abilities with capacity to prioritize complex initiatives in a fast-paced environment

  • Deep knowledge of modern methodologies and frameworks (Agile, Scrum, Kanban, SAFe)

  • Change management mindset with proven ability to champion innovation and drive adoption

  • Hands-on knowledge of programming languages relevant to automation (Java, Python, JavaScript)

  • Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and DevOps practices

  • Understanding of quality metrics, test automation ROI, and measurement frameworks

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • Experience with Investor Services/Asset Management/Financial industry (Cash and trade transaction processing and recording)

  • Vendor management experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline

  • Experience with RBC's technology landscape, systems, or practices

  • Exposure to cloud platforms and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
