What you will do:
This position is responsible for providing essential administrative and accounting support by working closely with the Financial Officer to ensure the accurate preparation, verification, and entry of financial information. The role is responsible for processing journal entries related to accounts payable and receivable, purchasing, petty cash, corporate credit cards, and inventory, while maintaining organized and up-to-date financial records. This position plays a key role in maintaining the integrity of the financial database, supporting day-to-day financial operations, and ensuring transactions are recorded in accordance with established procedures and timelines.
Some duties include the following:
- Assisting in the preparation of bank reconciliations and completing daily cash deposits
- Balancing and reconciliation of general ledger accounts
- Month-end adjustments to inventories for retail/food services/gasoline
- Reconciliation for Point of Sales transactions
- Remitting of Receiver General payments
- Assisting in fiscal audit preparation and execution by providing year end reports, adjustments and documentation
- Investigating and correcting errors by reviewing and educating staff by providing the proper information
- Reconciling information from various point of sale systems used at Admissions/Retail and Food Services against the revenue accounts using Microsoft Excel
- Receiving FareHarbour reports used for special events and reconcile against sales by making necessary adjustments when required
- Data entry
- Assisting with purchasing and procurement
- Other tasks as required
Who you are:
You are detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated with a strong aptitude for administrative support and basic financial tasks. You are comfortable working with numbers, maintaining accurate records, and using a variety of office software and financial systems. You can manage competing priorities well, communicate clearly and professionally, and take pride in accuracy, confidentiality, and follow-through. A collaborative mindset, good judgment, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment are key to success in this role.
Your attitude, skills and interests are just as important as your area of study. We are looking for diverse backgrounds that bring a combination of the following:
Required Competencies:
- High school diploma supplemented by successful completion of a minimum of a one (1) year post-secondary program in business, accounting, or a related field
- Minimum of four (4) years of related work experience
- Knowledge and experience working with Microsoft 365 Suite, including Office, Excel, and Outlook
- Class 5 driver's license as issued by the Province of New Brunswick
- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
Written and spoken competence in English is required. Please state your language capability.

Nice to have:
- Experience with Sage Accounting

Wage:
Administrative Services Level 3: $1,625 to $1,971 bi-weekly
Work environment:
- Office location: Kings Landing, Prince William, NB
- Standard hours of work: 8:15AM to 4:30PM, Thursday-Monday
- Some travel within the province may be required
