Reporting to the Manager, Device and SIM’s, the Wireless Lab Technician will be responsible for executing test cases for a variety of wireless devices and accessories, both in the lab and in the field, using various logging and diagnostic tools. You will troubleshoot and debug technical issues that arise and communicate these issues to the appropriate key stakeholder group.
Key responsibilities:
- Conducting test suites developed to validate a device’s compliance to requirements as determined by Eastlink.
- Monitoring ongoing performance of specific devices.
- Generating reports on specific device performance.
- Completing and maintaining necessary test documentation.
- Identifying gaps in testing and documenting accordingly.
- Maintaining lab and test equipment.
- Identifying opportunities to enhance automation and productivity in the execution of test cases.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in a testing role.
- Diploma in Electronics or Computer Technology or have an equivalent level of experience.
- Understanding of LTE and VoLTE protocols.
- Experience in a mobile testing environment.
- Experience in decoding and understanding call flows in a mobile network.
- Experience with Unix-like operating systems and scripting languages an asset.
- Basic database experience and scripting experience an asset.
- Experience with software test automation tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills include writing instruction manuals and other forms of technical writing.
- Must be a self-starter, motivated, detail oriented, and have the ability to work collaboratively with others.
- Experience with defect management software an asset.
- Knowledge of a variety of programming languages (e.g. C++, Java, Python).
- Strong computer skills in MS Office including Excel.
