The Department of Public Safety is seeking an individual to join the Policing Standards and Contracts Management Branch as a Policing Consultant. The Branch is responsible for the promotion of policing excellence in the province through the provision of development of professional policing standards and policies, quality assurance evaluations of municipal/regional police forces and through oversight and quality control related to the management of the Provincial Police Service Agreement for the RCMP services provided to the Province.
What you will do
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing professional policing consulting services to clients and partners in policing. The incumbent is responsible for the oversight of quality assurance and assessment processes for the New Brunswick Policing Standards as well as managing complex strategically focused project-based initiatives involving a broad range of stakeholders from within and external to the policing environment. The successful candidate will also assist in on-going policing policy development requirements. Other key responsibilities will include providing advice, preparing correspondence, reports and project deliverables on a variety of initiatives including crime reduction strategies. The successful candidates will represent the Branch and interests of the policing community on various inter/intra departmental and stakeholder committees and working groups.

Your attitude, skills and interests are just as important as your area of study. We are looking for diverse backgrounds that bring a combination of the following:
Need to have:
- A university degree in Law, Business Administration, Social Sciences or a related educational discipline
- Six (6) years of related work experience in the policing field, including demonstrated experience in auditing and quality assurance practices as well as management of complex strategically focused projects
OR
- A diploma in Police Sciences or graduation from an accredited Police training facility
- Eight (8) years of related work experience in the policing field, including demonstrated experience in auditing and quality assurance practices as well as management of complex strategically focused projects
OR
- A combination of education and experience including police training and a minimum of ten (10) years of progressive policing work experience combined with demonstrated experience in auditing and quality assurance practices as well as management of complex strategically focused projects may be considered.
- Successful candidates will be required to undergo a criminal history clearance and security clearance check.

Wage
$2,574.00 to $3,595.00 biweekly based on education and experience
