Your main responsibilities
- Apply and promote Englobe's health and safety rules
- Overseeing and conducting laboratory tests including but not limited to compressive strength testing of concrete, soil and aggregate gradation (sieve and hydrometer), plasticity tests (Atterberg limits), soil density testing (Proctor), asphalt extraction and A/C content, and calibrating lab and field equipment in accordance with CCIL;
- Maintaining open lines of communication in the facilitation of information exchange between external Clients, Laboratory Supervisor and Field and Lab Technicians/Technologists;
- Ensuring maintenance of accurate sample logs for concrete cylinders, asphalt samples, aggregate and soil samples in accordance with CCIL;
- Recording test data, preparing factual reports, summaries, data sheets or graphs for interpretation of results;
- Assisting with maintenance of data base of records containing calibration certificates, registration certificates, equipment manuals and applicable standards in accordance with CCIL;
- Participating in laboratory correlation and accreditation assessment programs (eg. CCIL);
- Making recommendations to control or eliminate unsafe conditions in the workplace.
What makes you unique
- Technical Diploma in a field related to Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering;
- Experience in one or all of Soil and Aggregate, Asphalt and Laboratory experience;
- More than 2 years of experience in highway materials, construction materials sampling and testing and inspection;
- CSA, CCIL or ACI certification (asset);
- Ability to handle samples up to 25kg of materials regularly;
- Demonstrated interest and sensitivity towards occupational health and safety.

The salary range for this position is $47,934 to $62,913 CAD base per annum, based on the responsibilities of the role, internal equity, and current market benchmarks. The final offer will be determined based on a combination of factors, including the candidate's skills, experience and qualifications, their positioning within our internal compensation structure, and relevant geographic cost-of-living considerations, where applicable. This range represents a realistic and good-faith estimate of the compensation we expect to offer for this role.
Compensation may also include a comprehensive benefits package, performance incentives, or bonus eligibility depending on role level and business unit. We aim to foster transparency, respect candidate time and ensure equitable compensation aligned with our company values.
