DUTIES

Reporting to the Coordinator, Distributed Medical Education (DME), the successful applicant will assist with and support administrative processes related to the delivery of the Longitudinal Integrated Clerkship (LIC) of the Doctor of Medicine (MD) program at the Clarenville, NL site by coordinating individualized clinical learning plans for LIC learners under the direction of the LIC Site Coordinator (LICSC). This role works closely with the LICSC and Clinical Clerkship Coordinators (CDCs) to plan, operate and evaluate learner experiences throughout the LIC program. This role will also work in collaboration with DME Academic Program Administrators (APAs), Scheduling Coordinator and Housing Coordinator to ensure the LIC learners' academic and living environments are satisfactory.

Duties include liaising with faculty from the core clinical disciplines; supporting and assisting with the development and implementation of LIC curriculum, including lesson plans; scheduling and monitoring learning experiences to ensure learner completion all requirements of the MED 8710 Core Experiences Course; serving as the primary point of contact for learners, faculty, and staff; coordinating with preceptors to arrange clinical experiences at the Clarenville site and elsewhere, as needed; preparing orientation materials for LIC learners; uploading schedules using the One45 scheduling software; collecting and analyzing data related to learner performance and program effectiveness while maintaining accurate and up-to-date databases related to the LIC program; participating in program improvement initiatives; creating summary reports of learner progress and participation; scheduling and coordinating educational activities such as seminars, workshops, and faculty development sessions; communicating important information to learners and faculty, such as schedule changes, updates and deadlines; coordinating and securing instructional space for LIC meetings and events; recording and transcribing meeting minutes; preparing, distributing and communicating LIC course schedules and materials to the LIC team, learners and preceptors; providing proctoring support for the National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME) progress test 4 times per year; coordinating site and accreditation visits; coordinating the logistics for faculty development initiatives in the region; and performing other LIC-related duties as required. This position also requires the ability to travel to Clarenville on short notice (less than 24 hours) to support LIC operations as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Considerable experience (3-5 years) in program management and administrative support in an academic or hospital environment; completion of most courses equivalent to a degree in business administration, adult education or related area; or any equivalent combination of experience and training. Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills are required. Strong proficiency in using computer software (MS Office) and creating databases is an asset. A high level of professionalism and attention to detail is required. Experience with scheduling software, learner information systems and One45 are considered assets. This position will require a valid Driver's Licence and access to a motor vehicle for travel within the region.

SALARY $57,336 – $67,257(CUPE Local 1615)
