The Role

The Manager, CLS contributes to the overall success of the Loan Closing & Servicing team by executing individual goals and initiatives that align with broader business strategies and priorities. The role ensures all activities are completed in compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and established procedures.

The Manager will perform a diverse range of responsibilities across loan closing, trade processing, operational control, and client servicing — including trade life cycle management, trade control/administration, reconciliation, KRI/KPI maintenance, client onboarding, and ongoing client service.

This role is both hands?on and leadership?oriented: Managers are expected to operate as strong individual contributors while supporting the Senior Manager/Director with daily activities, project initiatives, and coaching or guiding junior team members.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Operate independently, identifying and resolving issues with minimal oversight. You thrive in a fast paced environment, make informed decisions quickly, and adapt to new business areas without requiring prior subject matter expertise.
  • Champion a customer focused culture—deepening client relationships and leveraging broader Bank capabilities.
  • Drive continuous operational improvement by:
        1. Solving complex, multi layered operational challenges
        2. Identifying efficiency opportunities and preparing proposals
        3. Defining business requirements and new/improved processes
        4. Leading or supporting development, testing, implementation, and change management activities
        5. Building and monitoring detailed project plans
        6. Influencing cross functional partners and senior leaders to gain alignment
  • Execute daily CLS operational activities, including:
    1. Trade Support (trade capture, allocations, affirmations, amendments, rolls)
    2. Limits monitoring and breach management
    3. Documentation and confirmations
    4. Operational control and reconciliation
    5. Client service and CRM
    6. Onboarding & enablement (security, counterparty, user setup)
    7. Loan trade settlement support
    8. Assisting with audit requests and regulatory inquiries
    9. KRI/KPI reporting and governance
  • Ensure effective day to day controls, upholding obligations related to operational risk, regulatory compliance, AML/ATF risk, conduct risk, and internal control frameworks.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • Post graduate experience in capital markets, finance, banking, process improvement, business analysis, or operational solution implementation.
  • Strong understanding of banking/capital markets operations, ideally within trade operations or loan servicing.
  • Demonstrated analytical and process engineering capabilities, including experience with process mapping and workflow optimization.
  • Solid technical skills, including:
    1. Understanding of basic software engineering concepts
    2. Experience with SQL, VBA, MS Access, and Excel
    3. Ability to quickly learn internal systems and operational processes
  • Results oriented, deadline driven, and self motivated; able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Leadership mindset, including the ability to guide junior team members, support performance management activities, and reinforce adherence to internal policies and procedures.
