BACKGROUND

In 2019, Memorial University of Newfoundland and Nunavut Arctic College entered into a historic generational partnership on higher education. The goals of the partnership include cultivating, supporting and delivering shared degree programs focused on learners, promoting institutional collaboration, supporting leadership development, and increasing student accessibility to post-secondary education opportunities in Nunavut. Two professional degree programs, B.Ed. and B.SW., are successfully underway.

Memorial University and Nunavut Arctic College work closely to ensure that Nunavut students are supported by both institutions and experience academic success. The relationship between Memorial University and Nunavut Arctic College continues to expand as both post-secondary institutions explore ways to create more opportunities for Nunavut learners.

DUTIES

Reporting to the Director, Nunavut Arctic College-Memorial University Partnership, the successful candidate will be responsible for the coordination of projects within the Partnership. This position will collect and organize data and information for the Partnership; provide support to stakeholder groups; coordinate logistics, in particular around Partnership travel and events; prepare reports and reconcile Partnership funds using Memorial information systems; and other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will have experience (1-3 years) in project planning and coordination supplemented by an 3-year diploma in a related field. The successful candidate will be highly motivated with a demonstrated ability to build relationships within the university as well as externally between the university and other organizations. Strong organizational and information management skills are required, including experience with digital systems such as the Microsoft suite, Banner, and FAST. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are also required. Experience working in the North, with Inuit populations, and/or in intercultural settings would be an asset.

SALARY $53,729 - $63,029 per annum
