Administrative / Office Assistant
GEMTEC is a growing firm with offices throughout Atlantic Canada and in Ontario, and we are looking for a motivated and skilled Administrative / Office Assistant to join our Team. We are seeking a full-time Administrative / Office Assistant to join our team in our Bowmanville, ON office. This role will involve providing crucial support to the office and as such involves being proactive and organized with a strong administrative background and a willingness to contribute hands-on support. The ideal candidate will have strong computer skills, excel in administrative tasks, and be comfortable working in an office environment.
The successful candidate will have the following:
Educational & Experience Requirements:
• Community College diploma or equivalent in office administration or a related field is a plus.
• Strong computer skills, with proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe software programs.
• Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal, and multitasking abilities.
• Proven experience as an administrative assistant.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Main Duties:
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate experience in the following:
- Provide and maintain confidential administrative support for the Bowmanville team.
- Daily administration tasks including ordering and management of office supplies, and electronic and physical file maintenance.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word, with a working knowledge of Adobe software programs.
- Support the editing and formatting of technical letters/reports, including date entry.
- Ensure accuracy, clarity, and adherence to company standards in all written documentation.
- Respond to emails, answering/direct phone calls, greet clients, and receive office deliveries.
- Procure and manage office supplies and equipment.
- Willing to step up to support in a variety of areas as opportunities present themselves.
- Performing other related duties as required.
- Adhering to all company policies.
Position:
- Contract position, working full time (37.5 hours per week) in office
- Overtime may be required during peak times and to meet client deadlines
- Must have a valid driver's license and access to personal vehicle.
Pay Range: $20-$24 CAD per hour
In alignment with Ontario's Employment Standards Act and pay?transparency requirements, GEMTEC includes the expected compensation range in publicly advertised job postings for roles based in Ontario. This range reflects what GEMTEC reasonably anticipates paying for this position. Final compensation will be based on the successful candidate's education, experience, skills, internal pay equity, specific Ontario location, or other factors unrelated to Ontario?protected grounds.
