The Autism Learning Partnership (ALP), a division of the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development, is mandated to design, implement, and manage various training initiatives, such as content creation, review, coordination, and facilitation of training sessions. It is also responsible for providing support related to learners with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD), complex behavioral needs, and other conditions. ALP also supports students receiving visual and hearing services (francophone sector) and participates in the development, implementation, and quality assurance of the preschool autism program guidelines.
What you will do:
Reporting to the Director of the Autism Learning Partnership and Specialized Services, the successful candidate will be responsible for strengthening the education system's capacity in understanding, awareness, and intervention related to trauma in school settings. They will play a key role in promoting and implementing well-being in schools, as well as supporting the implementation and review of policies and guidelines.
The individual will serve as a liaison and take on responsibilities in promotion, training, and interdisciplinary collaboration with various internal and external partners, including Francophone School Districts, and other key stakeholders working in the areas of well-being, trauma-informed approaches, and specialized services.
Key responsibilities of the position are:
- Promotion and dissemination of trauma-informed approaches
- Building connections and strategic networking
- Serving on various committees and working groups to represent well-being, specialized services, trauma, and other related areas
- Engaging with experts and stakeholders closely involved in trauma-related issues
- Promotion and implementation of well-being in school settings
- Supporting the implementation and drafting of various policies and guidelines
- Ongoing training for mentors in behavior management
- Consultation and interdisciplinary collaboration

Need to have:
- Master's degree in education, psychology, social work, or another related field and have at least six (6) years of related experience
- A valid driver's license
- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
Fluency in French, both spoken and written, is essential. A working knowledge of spoken and written English is also required.

Wage:
Pay Band 7 - $93,210 - $112,788 annually.
Work environment:
- Office location: Place 2000, 250 King Street, Fredericton, or possibility of remote work within New Brunswick
- Regular working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
