Service New Brunswick's Technology Services Division is seeking to create a list of qualified candidates to fill current and future Senior System Analyst roles. The SNB Technology Services Division provides technology services to all Government of New Brunswick departments and Regional Health Authorities. With over 800 employees, we form one of the largest IT employers in the province with office locations in most cities and regions. The Government of New Brunswick (GNB) is committed to transforming how it manages its operational business units and finances. GNB's goal is to modernize its business processes through the implementation and operation of an Oracle Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Cloud Software as a Service (SaaS) solution over the next 10+ years. The Senior System Analysts will play a role in the efficient and effective delivery of technology and business solutions needed to meet GNB's evolving business requirements and improvement of processes. This position is part of a multi-disciplinary and highly skilled DEV/OPS team assigned to creating and supporting innovative strategies to help transform GNB service delivery through the ERP Cloud platform.

What will you be doing?

The Senior System Analyst's responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Developing IT solutions that meet client's business requirements and goals, while adhering to standards and best practices and maintaining information integrity across all solutions deployed within the Oracle Fusion environment(s).
  • Providing operational support functions tied to client application enhancements and/or ERP SaaS Platform advancements.
  • Developing reports leveraging Oracle Fusion Transaction Business intelligence (OBTI) and Oracle Fusion Financial Reporting Studio (FRS) toolsets.
  • Interacting with various stakeholders (Business Owners, Technology Services Branches, Oracle etc.) to collect and understand client and technical requirements.
  • Conducting preventative maintenance, which includes changes to the ERP Platform and client applications that would improve system performance or application usability.
  • Collaborating with other teams (Integration, Infrastructure, etc.) within Technology Services to investigate and ensure implementation of effective solutions.
  • Providing technical expertise and mentoring in all aspects of application development, maintenance, and support
  • Providing technical expertise and mentoring with regards to standards and processes for deliverables
  • Ensuring application design/development, maintenance and support activities adhere to policies, standards, processes, and procedures
  • Multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines, and any other related duties as assigned
  • Working with business analysts, technical teams and business units to review business needs, recommend and develop solutions to address their requirements
  • Contributing to defining, documenting and improving on issue, change, and risk management processes

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

A university degree in Computer Science or a related field and a minimum of five (5) years related experience in system development and support OR a two (2) year college diploma in Information Technology with a minimum of seven (7) years Information Management or Information Technology (IM/IT) experience. Subject to the response to this competition, an equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Written and spoken competence in English and French is required for some positions. Other positions will require written and spoken competence in English only.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS: Preference may be given to candidates who demonstrate they have training or experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Experience with Oracle Fusion Cloud in areas such as Human Resources, Procurement or Finance
  • Experience with Oracle Cloud Enterprise Performance Management (EPM)
  • Experience with Oracle Maintenance Cloud (OMC)
  • Experience with SaaS or PaaS solutions or technologies
  • Experience with a large Enterprise Resource Planning Solution in areas such as Human Resources, Procurement or Finance
  • Experience with SQL, Oracle PL/SQL
  • Experience with planning and managing software releases
  • Experience in assessing the impacts and risks of customization and configuration to support long term system and business process sustainability within a SaaS application.
  • Knowledgeable in Data Conversion/Migrations, Inbound/Outbound interfaces, and Reports with 3rd party applications.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Some weekday evening and weekend work hours may be required on occasion.
  • Some travel throughout the province may be required, and you must possess a valid driver's license.
