Service New Brunswick is seeking an individual to join the Technology Services Division in the Infrastructure Services Branch as an Infrastructure Analyst.

Reporting to the Manager of Platform Services, the Infrastructure Analyst will work as part of a team of professionals responsible for the continuous development, operation and support of the public cloud infrastructure for the Government of New Brunswick. We are seeking a skilled Infrastructure Analyst with a strong focus on public cloud technologies to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting, maintaining, and optimizing our cloud-based infrastructure to ensure reliability, scalability, and security across all environments.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide operational support for public cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud), for primarily Strategic Cloud Platform Services. (SCPS)
  • Monitor and maintain cloud infrastructure performance, availability, security, and cost optimization.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve incidents related to cloud services, networking, and integrations.
  • Implement and maintain security best practices, including identity and access management.
  • Collaborate with application teams to ensure smooth deployments and cloud resource provisioning.
  • Assist in automation initiatives and IaC deployments using tools like Terraform, VSCode, Git, Azure Devops.
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning and execution for cloud workloads.
  • Collaborate on the development of standards for the deployment and support of new public cloud services.
  • Provide service to SNB clients and ensure processes and procedures are aligned to the SNB shared-services delivery model;
  • Provide operational support of the corporate infrastructure and maintain various systems with the primary focus on the government's line of business applications.
  • Provide system setup, installation, configuration and maintenance including but not limited to hardware, operating systems and applications.
  • Monitor overall performance of the public cloud environments and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Respond to incidents, requests for service and support, and potentially coordinate resolution with internal or external resources;
  • Act as a technical resource on various IT-related projects and initiatives.
  • Document and maintain current systems, processes, and procedures.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: Completion of a university degree in a relevant discipline and a minimum of three (3) years progressive work experience, including two (2) years supporting public cloud environments or a two (2) year college diploma in a related discipline with a minimum of five (5) years of progressive, related work experience.

Demonstrated experience with cloud infrastructure technologies, including cloud platform administration, policy administration, cloud networking, serverless computing, containerization, and cloud-based storage solutions. Alternatively, a two (2) year college diploma in a related discipline with at least four (4) years of progressive, relevant work experience. Subject to the response to this competition, an equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.

Written and spoken competence in English is required.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS: Preference may be given to candidates who demonstrate they have training or experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Experience with each AWS, Azure, GCP and Oracle cloud.
  • Experience with Tenable Cloud Security
  • Cloud service/solution backup best practices
  • Understanding of the common 'cloud migration paths' (7R's)
  • Disaster Recovery Planning and Implementation
  • DNS, DHCP, Digital Certificates Management
  • Experience with ITIL Process and Technical documentation

Subject to the response to this competition, candidates may be required to demonstrate on their application one or more of the asset qualifications in addition to the essential qualifications in order to be given further consideration.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: The successful candidates will be required to be on call for after-hours support. Travel throughout the province may be required.

Salary: $58,474 - $81,770 annually - Pay Band 4 - Management and Non-Union Pay Plan
