Reporting to the Director of Facilities and Administration, this position provides province-wide technical expertise in the investigation, planning, coordination, and delivery of facility improvement projects and emergency readiness initiatives across SNB's portfolio of leased and owned properties.
The Facilities Projects Lead plays a key role in ensuring SNB's buildings and systems remain safe, compliant, energy-efficient, and operationally reliable. The successful candidate will act as a bridge between facility operations, engineering consultants, landlords, and contractors, translating technical issues into practical solutions and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Lead and coordinate facility upgrade, renovation, and building systems projects (HVAC, electrical, envelope, accessibility, and IAQ improvements) from scope development to completion.
Conduct technical investigations into building performance issues, reviewing consultant reports (e.g., mechanical, structural) and recommending corrective actions.
Prepare technical scopes of work, cost estimates, and procurement documentation in collaboration with the team.
Liaise with consultants, contractors, DTI, and landlords to monitor project schedules, budgets, and compliance with SNB and provincial standards.
Perform site inspections to verify quality, adherence to specifications, and proper commissioning of systems.
Support the implementation of preventive maintenance programs and asset-life-cycle tracking.
Provide technical advice to regional Facilities Coordinators on building systems and project planning.
Coordinate environmental, health, and safety compliance for building projects (ventilation, indoor air quality testing, lighting, etc.).
Contribute to SNB's sustainability and energy efficiency initiatives through project design and system optimization.
Assist with emergency response investigations and rapid assessments following building incidents.
Serve as SNB's Facilities Branch lead for Emergency Measures (EMO), Provincial Emergency Action Committee (PEAC), and support Business Continuity Planning (BCP):
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants must possess one of the following:
A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Building Systems, or related discipline) with a minimum of five (5) years of directly related experience in facility operations, building systems, capital projects, or construction coordination;
OR
A two-year post-secondary diploma in Building Systems Technology, Architectural Technology, Mechanical Technology, Civil Technology, Electrical Technology, or a related field with a minimum of seven (7) years of directly related experience in facility operations, building systems, or construction project coordination.
An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS: Preference may be given to candidates who demonstrate they have training or experience in one or more of the following areas:
HVAC or Building Automation Systems (BAS) operation and commissioning
Capital project management or construction site coordination
Familiarity with NB Building Code, Fire Code, and CSA building standards
Energy management or environmental health and safety
AutoCAD or Revit experience for review of as-built drawings and layouts
Emergency-management or business-continuity experience would be considered an asset.
Subject to the response to this competition, candidates may be required to demonstrate on their application one or more of the asset qualifications in addition to the essential qualifications in order to be given further consideration.
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Occasional travel throughout the province; a valid driver's license is required.
Occasional work outside regular hours to respond to facility issues or project deadlines.
May be required to serve on-call during emergency activations.

Salary: $66,924- $93,470 annually – Management and Non-Union Pay Plan
