PHYSISICIAN REMUNERATION ADVISOR

The Department of Health is seeking an individual to join the Medicare and Physician Services Branch as a Physician Remuneration Advisor in the Fredericton office. The successful candidate will report to the Manager of Physician Remuneration & Programs.
As a Physician Remuneration Advisor, you will:
- Support the unit's Director and Manager in implementing the remuneration framework, which supports Primary Care practices across the province;
- Manage the process for establishing new Primary Care practices by analysing data, engaging stakeholders, and providing interpretation of the Primary Care remuneration models;
- Clarify requirements, resolve issues, ensure compliance, and provide guidance to internal teams, Regional Health Authorities, Primary Care practices, and the New Brunswick Medical Society on eligibility, reporting, and payment questions;
- Proactively identify areas of ambiguity in the agreement, or operational bottlenecks, and provide recommendations to leadership;
- Participate in various meetings and working groups to provide advice and guidance regarding physician remuneration;
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders including the Regional Health Authorities, the New Brunswick Medical Society, other Government of New Brunswick departments and community stakeholders;
- Participate as a subject matter expert in continuous improvement projects to streamline processes and improve stakeholder experience.
- Perform various other duties as required.

Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's in Business, Health Administration, or another health related field, and
- Five (5) years of relevant experience.
- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
- Written and spoken competence in English and French is required. Please state your language capability on your application.

In the event that this competition poses difficulties in recruiting a qualified candidate, a covering off appointment at a lower level may be made. In that case, candidates with less than the required related years of experience may also be considered.
Asset Qualifications: Preference may be given to candidates that demonstrate the following asset qualifications:
- Experience with, or knowledge of, Project Management methodologies and principles
- Experience with, or knowledge of, the health system

Salary: $2,047 to $2,860 bi-weekly (Pay Band 3)
