Duration: January 2026 to September 2026
Position Type: Term
Salary Range: $2,454.00 to $3,776.00 bi-weekly based on the experience and level of post-secondary education.
Reporting to the Business Development Operations Manager, and as a member of the faculty team, you are responsible for ensuring planning and preparing instructional materials and resources; establishing and managing a positive learning environment; instructing and evaluating students; building and sustaining professional relationships with students, colleagues, community partners, and stakeholders; as well as other related duties.
Specific instructional areas and courses within the program may include:
- Communication and employment skills
- Fire Control
- Firefighter fitness
- Firefighter Survival
The successful incumbent will be willing and able to integrate technology and active student learning techniques into teaching practices.
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma, or equivalency
- Firefighter Level 1 and 2 (NFPA 1001), Hazmat Awareness and Operations (NFPA 472 or 1072),
- Five (5) years of recent experience as an active Firefighter with Fire Service Instructor 1 (NFPA 1043) certification (IFSAC/Pro Board).
- Two (2) years of recent experience as an active fire service instructor.
- NFPA 1001 and NFPA 1072 certifications (IFSAC or Pro Board) are required. Successful candidates who do not currently hold these certifications must complete and obtain them within 18 months of appointment.
- Candidates must possess a Class 5 drivers' license with Air Brakes Endorsement.
- Candidates must demonstrate excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Candidates must provide proof of good physical fitness.
- Written and spoken competence in English is required.
- Preference may be given to bilingual candidates, and to candidates who have experience working in a post-secondary environment.
Candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet these qualifications on their resumes.
Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be raised.
